Plate heat exchangers include gasketed, welded, plate-shell, and brazed plate heat exchangers that use thin metal plates to transfer heat between two fluids. Also, like plate fin heat exchangers, various plate patterns have their specific heat transfer and pressure drop performance. Generally, these exchangers cannot accommodate very high pressures, temperatures, and pressure and temperature differentials.
The gasketed plate heat exchanger (PHE) consists of a number of thin rectangular corrugated or embossed metal plates sealed around the edges by gaskets and held together in a frame.
The welded plate heat exchangers is suitable for use in high temperatures and pressures, as well as in cases where the leakage of fluid materials can increase the possibility of danger.
Compabloc heat exchanger
Shegeft Afzar industrial and manufacturing company designed the Compabloc range of welded heat exchangers with a focus on performance, compactness, and serviceability.
The Compabloc heat exchanger is based on the square shaped plates welded in blocks arranged in different passes combination for hot and cold streams movement. each stream goes through four individual groups of plates with cross flow between two heat exchanging streams. The flows are directed into passes using the baffle plates extending across the whole cross-section of the heat exchanger collector. The hot stream enters the unit from the top, and cold from the bottom of the unit creating overall counter flow arrangement with cross flow in individual groups of plates.
